Youngstown

Our mission is to engage, inspire, and empower youth to reach their full potential.  Since breaking ground in the Mahoning Valley in 2006, over 2,000 students have participated in our After-School and Summer Enrichment Programs.  The exposure and opportunities we offer our students through Education, College & Career Readiness, Health & Wellness and Personal Development have been life changing.  Now we’re aiming to expand our outreach to make an even bigger impact in the heart of Youngstown.

We believe every child deserves to have a bright future.  As Youngstown natives, our life-long dream has been to impact the lives of the under-represented youth in our city, and the opportunity has finally arrived.  Inspiring Minds has helped students get better grades, learn to swim, take their first steps on a college campus, learn to cook, increase their self-confidence, and develop their soft skills such as “Please” and “Thank You”, introducing themselves, and decision making.  These are only a few of the components that will assist our students in being productive members of society.

With the proper tools, support, and motivation, there’s truly no limit to what future generations can achieve.  With that, we ask that you consider supporting Inspiring Minds as a partner IMpacting the youth of Youngstown, Ohio.

Sincerely,

Stephanie Gilchrist                                            Simon Arias

After-School & Summer Enrichment Programming

In 2015, for the first time, Inspiring Minds offered their Summer Enrichment Program to students in Youngstown.  The 6-week program ran Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM, for Youngstown students entering 3rd through 8th grades.

The Summer Enrichment Program transitioned into an After-School Program for Youngstown students in grades K-8.  As an extension of the activities offered by the Summer Enrichment Program, students participate in daily homework help and tutoring, sports and recreation, mentoring, college and career exploration, field trips, arts and crafts, dance, choir and more.
